U.S. Bancorp is a financial services holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. provides a range of financial services, including lending and depository services, cash management, capital markets, and trust and investment management services. Co. also engages in credit card services, merchant and automatic teller machine processing, mortgage banking, insurance, brokerage and leasing. Lending services include credit products as well as leasing, financing and import/export trade, asset-backed lending and agricultural finance. Depository services include savings accounts and time certificate contracts. At Dec 31 2012, Co. had total assets of $353.86 billion and deposits of $249.18 billion.
