VWO, GXG: Big ETF Outflows
ETF Channel Staff - Thursday, January 18, 10:51 AMLooking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets ETF (VWO), where 387,316,491 units were destroyed, or a 26.7% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of VWO, in morning trading today Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) is up about 2.9%, and Alibaba Group Holding (BABA) is relatively unchanged.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the MSCI Colombia ETF (GXG), which lost 3,250,000 of its units, representing a 35.4% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of GXG, in morning trading today Canacol Energy (CNE.CA) is up about 0.9%.
