Wednesday's ETF with Unusual Volume: IBB
ETF Channel Staff - Wednesday, June 21, 1:33 PMThe iShares Nasdaq Biotechnology ETF (IBB) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 2.9 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 903,000. Shares of IBB were up about 3.2% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Celgene (CELG), trading up about 4% with over 7.8 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Gilead Sciences (GILD), up about 2% on volume of over 7.3 million shares. Esperion Therapeutics (ESPR) is the component faring the best Wednesday, up by about 13.1% on the day, while Nantkwest (NK) is lagging other components of the iShares Nasdaq Biotechnology ETF, trading lower by about 8.7%.
