XLF, SMH: Big ETF Outflows

Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund, where 41,350,000 units were destroyed, or a 4.3% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of XLF, in morning trading today JP Morgan Chase is up about 0.2%, and Berkshire Hathaway Class B is relatively unchanged.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the Semiconductor ETF, which lost 1,400,000 of its units, representing a 14.6% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of SMH, in morning trading today Taiwan Semiconductor is trading flat, and Intel is higher by about 0.1%.
