XLF, EWSC: Big ETF Outflows
ETF Channel Staff - Tuesday, January 24, 10:47 AMLooking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF), where 35,000,000 units were destroyed, or a 3.5% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of XLF, in morning trading today Berkshire Hathaway Class B (BRK.B) is up about 0.7%, and JP Morgan Chase & Company (JPM) is higher by about 0.6%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the Guggenheim S&P SmallCap 600 Equal Weight ETF (EWSC), which lost 150,000 of its units, representing a 18.8% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of EWSC, in morning trading today Freds (FRED) is down about 1.3%, and Quorum Health Corporation (QHC) is higher by about 1.6%.
