IWM, XRT: Big ETF Outflows
ETF Channel Staff - Friday, August 26, 11:07 AMLooking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM), where 10,250,000 units were destroyed, or a 4.3% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of IWM, in morning trading today Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is up about 3.8%, and Microsemi (MSCC) is up by about 0.7%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the SPDR S&P Retail ETF (XRT), which lost 3,000,000 of its units, representing a 19.2% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of XRT, in morning trading today Groupon (GRPN) is up about 0.9%, and Gap (GPS) is higher by about 1.4%.
