IEFA, SMH: Big ETF Outflows
ETF Channel Staff - Monday, April 20, 11:12 AMLooking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the iShares Core MSCI EAFE ETF (IEFA), where 12,100,000 units were destroyed, or a 12.5% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of IEFA, in morning trading today Ryanair Holdings (RYAAY) is up about 1.3%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the Semiconductor ETF (SMH), which lost 3,249,937 of its units, representing a 33.1% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of SMH, in morning trading today Intel (INTC) is up about 0.6%, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) is higher by about 0.9%.
