XOP, SMH: Big ETF Outflows
ETF Channel Staff - Thursday, November 20, 2:22 PMLooking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production ETF (XOP), where 4,400,000 units were destroyed, or a 19.8% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of XOP, in morning trading today Tesoro Corporation (TSO) is up about 0.4%, and PBF Energy (PBF) is higher by about 2.5%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the Semiconductor ETF (SMH), which lost 2,150,000 of its units, representing a 23.4% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of SMH, in morning trading today Intel Corporation (INTC) is up about 0.2%, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) is up by about 1%.
