Stone Energy is an independent oil and natural gas company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, exploitation, development and operation of oil and gas properties. Co. operates in the Gulf Coast Basin and outside of the conventional shelf of the Gulf of Mexico. Co. also has onshore oil and gas shale activities on the Marcellus Shale in Appalachia. As of Dec 31 2011, Co.'s estimated proved developed and undeveloped reserves for oil and natural gas, were 45.8 million barrels and 327.35 billion cubic feet, respectively, amounting to a total oil and natural gas reserve of 601.88 billion cubic feet of natural gas equivalent.
