Dominion Resources is engaged in producing and transporting energy. Co.'s operations include Virginia Electric and Power Company, that generates, transmits and distributes electricity for sale in Virginia and North Carolina. Co. has three primary segments: Dominion Virginia Power, including regulated electric distribution and transmission, and nonregulated retail energy marketing (electric and gas); Dominion Generation, including regulated and merchant electric fleet; and Dominion Energy, including gas transmission, distribution and storage, liquefied natural gas import and storage, and producer services. As of Dec 31 2012, Co. served nearly 6.0 million customers in 15 states.
