Wednesday's ETF with Unusual Volume: IXJ
ETF Channel Staff - Wednesday, January 2, 12:26 PMThe iShares S&P Global Healthcare Sector Index Fund ETF (IXJ) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 532,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 53,000. Shares of IXJ were up about 1.3% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Pfizer (PFE), trading up about 1.9% with over 7.4 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Abbott Labs (ABT), up about 2.3% on volume of over 4.2 million shares. Alexion Pharmaceuticals (ALXN) is the component faring the best Wednesday, higher by about 5% on the day, while Prothena Plc Ord WI (PRTA) is lagging other components of the iShares S&P Global Healthcare Sector Index Fund ETF, trading lower by about 4.5%.
