IWM, BRIL: Big ETF Outflows
ETF Channel Staff - Thursday, August 30, 12:57 PMTurning today to week-over-week shares outstanding changes among the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the largest outflow was seen in the iShares Russell 2000 Index Fund (IWM), which shed 7,550,000 shares, or a 3.8% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of IWM, in morning trading today Two Harbors Investment Corporation (TWO) is off about 0.5%, and Athenahealth Incorporated (ATHN) is lower by about 1.7%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the largest outflow was the Daily BRIC Bull 3x Shares (BRIL), which lost 50,000 of its shares, for a whopping 20.0% decline in outstanding shares. Among the largest underlying components of BRIL, in morning trading today Aluminum Corporation China Ltd (ACH) is off about 1.9%, and Autonavi Holdings Ltd (AMAP) is higher by about 0.1%.
